think about it: pivot and pivot! there is nothing Americans can do about China whether to pivot or not. China will grow and continue to grow regardless of any action whether American is taken or not. talking is cheaper. America cannot force other countries to stop engaging with China especially the global South, The American military bases have been flattened by the Iranians.which proves Americans cannot protect against any middle power countries. let alone wage against the big sized one. to be smart, being Americans and should be staying in America, not the foolish ideas to pivot anywhere. cannot fight them then join them is evergreen strategy.

US military never had an advantage in east Asia. Korean war and Vietnam war come to mind. US carriers would be committing suicide is they wanted to stay close to Chinese shores. Pivot is unrealistic.
