The 24 team playoff will bless us with such matchups as Illinois vs SMU or Baylor vs Texas A&M

Listen, I love college football and more of it sounds great. However, when you have to strip away the meaning of one part of the season to amplify another, I don’t like it. I think 12 is absolutely perfect. The regular season won’t matter for big teams. If we want to extend the playoffs, make big teams play better non cons. No reason for SEC teams to pay FCS teams to get a free win since now they have more flexibility. If they start playing more comp in the non cons, then maybe 24 could be good. If not then it strips everything out of the regular season.

Bama would have missed the playoffs 12 team format more often than Ohio state. 2014 onwards

I don’t like it but we just saw rivalries in 2024 Michigan and ohio state meant the same amount even though osu still went to the playoffs

I don’t think there will be better matchups in the playoffs because more players will sit out cause they’re up 40 at halftime or they’re transferring. It will also mean that the schedule will have to be extended to either the end of January which already be open during the playoff, or they move up the season and they play noon kickoffs in 150° weather in the beginning of August.

well look at it another way it would also mean having much less meaningless bowl games 🏈 that people don't care about ! really if you think 🤔 about ot the days of bowl games 🏈 are over with! people ate just interested in the playoffs! and as far the conference championship games they've been a joke for a while now ! especially when the conferences were split in half
