About a year ago my wife had to go to a different city for work and we all decided to make a whole weekend trip out of it. The day she actually had to work all day I took our then 3 year old to a mall near the hotel and as soon as he saw the arcade he dashed inside and started doing the same: hopping on and off, just playing pretend. We spent a solid amount of time there and when the kid saw a trampoline area with kids way older an employee that had been keeping an eye on us very kindly told us he was too young to get in but there was a play place for younger kids somewhere else in the mall that charged a very small fee for unlimited playtime if he wanted to try that. At the end of the day the kid had had fun all day, was exhausted and I was very thankful for the tip and for them not kicking us out of the Arcade either.

There’s a little place in my town for kids. It’s got a play place and mini arcade for kids. And it’s completely free unless you wanna play the games. I bring my baby there all the time.

I did that with my kids too when they were younger. Now they’re older and they realize you need to put money in it to play the games . I missed the days when I could take them for “free”

This is still true for young kids! I remember going to the arcade as a kid and just looking at all the machines in awe and watching the games tutorials. We just love shiny things
