I remember someone stayed 2 hours after closing when I worked at this restaurant. It took every bone in my body to not cuss them out. I was tired and I had to open the next day I was hella annoyed

in Australia, our cafes and restaurants close their kitchens an hour or so before the venue closes. dont they do this in US???

Unpopular opinion coming: Bunch of sorry attitudes here. Let them sit there. Do your cleanup, side work, and check out. If they're still there, politely ask them to GTFO. If they dawdle, get the manager. It's not the servers problem.

In my area customers have to be out of the restaurant an hour after closing. By law. LOTS of folks tried to push that time and had to be told to leave.

i use to literally sweep ppl out the door with the broom. like purposefully sweep around them while glaring then once they stood up I'd sweep behind them out the door. U and Ur brats aren't stopping me from leaving

And that’s why most of the restaurants in my city have kitchens that close 30 to 45 before closing. And as a server I refused to take tables that came in that close to closing. I had kids and a babysitter I needed to get home 2 and the babysitter had was told a certain time and I refused to make her late to her life.

if that lady wanted a full meal and long conversation they should have went to an all night diner don't be pushy to a place that's about to close people already hadva full day and are ready to go home and deserve to be able to do that they have lives too

Typical people want a job but when they have to work an extra hour or two they refuse or give the customer an attitude. As someone who was a cook. I’d take the revenue and have the person come in. As a manager of a service department there has been time I’ve stayed two hours back to ensure the customer or customers are taken care of.
