Our high school had someone call in a threat. I can’t tell you how fast I got down there. And they don’t want to let them have phones! My kids are straight A students, I told them you have your phones on you every minute of the day I don’t give a damn bc I will come in and get you out

There’s no reason all schools don’t have metal detectors and locked doors with police or security. Sad it has to be that way but we have a mental issue here in America unfortunately

I am fully on board with solving the gun crisis in our country through any means, even so far as to amending the constitution to change the 2A. But to say this is “normal” in our schools is wildly hyperbolic. There are nearly 100k public schools in the US, and fewer than 20 school shootings/year. I agree that one is too many, but 0.02% is not “normal”. You can say it’s been “normalized” because we’re desensitized, but the chances of any of our children experiencing this is incredibly low.
