🚨 URGENT CALL TO THE INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE: WHO AUTHORISED THE VIKINGS CONFRATERNITY TO RENOVATE A POLICE STATION IN RIVERS STATE? 🚨 What I saw in the viral video showing members of the Vikings Confraternity associated with the renovation of a police facility in Abuloma, Rivers State, raises serious questions that demand urgent answers. First, I want to make it clear that renovating a police station is not, in itself, a crime. However, the Nigerian public deserves to know who authorised the project, who financed it, and whether the proper procedures were followed. If the Nigerian Police Force needs to renovate its offices or police stations, does the government not allocate public funds for the maintenance and rehabilitation of police facilities? Nigerians deserve to know how these funds are budgeted, released, spent, and accounted for. Where is the money allocated to the police for infrastructure and maintenance? Are the funds reaching the stations that need them? If private individuals or organisations are now financing renovations, there must be complete transparency about the source of the money and any conditions attached. I therefore call on the Inspector-General of Police and the Rivers State Commissioner of Police to conduct a thorough, independent, and transparent investigation into this matter. Investigators should establish who initiated the renovation, who approved it, who paid for it, and whether any police officer violated professional standards or abused their position. The conduct of the Divisional Police Officer and every other officer involved must be examined fairly, including whether there is credible evidence of improper relationships, conflicts of interest, or collusion with criminal elements. If evidence establishes that any officer is involved in cult-related criminal activities or is protecting perpetrators, that officer must face appropriate disciplinary action and prosecution where warranted. I also call for the lawful identification and investigation of anyone reasonably suspected of involvement in cult-related crimes, with arrests and prosecutions based on evidence and due process.
