Their different pol*tical views have not gotten in the way. Eminem, 53, appears on Kid Rock’s faith-based album, “Halfway 2 Jesus.” It comes out Oct. 17. Kid Rock is 55. The song is “Heal My Faith.” But it almost went differently. Eminem was first set to appear on “7 Sins.” Then they agreed to keep it to one song. After the tracklist came out, Eminem asked Kid Rock when he last heard their first song. Then he suggested they switch. Lil Wayne ended up on “7 Sins.” Kid Rock told Billboard that Eminem sent back a new verse about their shared history. It covers living at the Oakwood Apartments together. It also recalls Kid Rock coming to Eminem’s Slim Shady release show when he was “nobody.” Kid Rock says one line gave him chills: “He’s my brother, not my political enemy.” He said, “I heard the finished mix, and grandpa was crying.” He says they have been friends for about 40 years. “There’s a lot of stuff we agree on, and we can have a laugh about what we don’t,” he said.
