@amthomcode: 10 Backend Design Pattern Laws of Senior Engineers and Architects In this video, Cloud X Berry explains 10 backend design patterns worth understanding before 2027, in a simple and beginner-friendly way. When you start backend development, everything looks simple. You pick a language, choose a framework, connect a database, build a few APIs, and it all works. Then the application grows. More features land, more developers join the same codebase, and the business keeps changing its mind. Code that looked perfectly fine on day one becomes hard to understand and risky to touch. Design patterns exist for exactly this moment: they are proven ways to structure code around problems that keep coming back. We go through ten of them, one problem at a time. Repository keeps database access out of your business logic, so you can test with a mock and swap MySQL for PostgreSQL without rewriting the app. Factory gives you one place to create the right payment provider, whether that's Stripe, Razorpay or PayPal. Singleton keeps one shared instance of things like configuration and logging, and we look at why it is so easy to overuse. Strategy replaces a growing pile of if-else discount rules with interchangeable strategies. Observer lets an order service publish an ORDER PLACED event while inventory, email, loyalty and analytics react on their own, which is the same idea behind Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, AWS SNS and Google Pub/Sub. Builder replaces a constructor with 10 or 15 parameters with a readable, step-by-step build. Adapter translates every external API's format into one consistent interface. Decorator layers caching, logging, metrics and authorization around a service without changing it, just like middleware. CQRS separates commands from queries so reads and writes can scale on their own, and we cover when it's worth the complexity. Circuit breaker stops one failing payment gateway from taking your whole application down, with the CLOSED, OPEN and HALF-OPEN states explained step by step. We finish by looking at how these patterns work together in a real backend, and why understanding the problem behind each one matters far more than memorising its definition. CHAPTERS 0:45 1.
