good summary! Hungarian language also shares similar grammar with Turkish. (e.g. agglutination, vocal harmony) and quite a lot of related vocabulary.

Cudos to Hungary surviving all their neigbours wanting to rob its territory! Now Hungary must pretend the neighbours are its best friends and allies... [Big LOL] however they stabbed them in the back several times. Against all hearsay the furthest east nation that shows up in Hungarians' DNA is Turkish. No Uralic, no Mongolian, no Kazah. Hungarians are from the now closest Russian territory the max.

Great summary of the beginning of the Hungarian state, and an excellent pronunciation of "Etelköz". Stoked to see your long form video.

Thank you for putting it this way. I’ve long argued with my cousins that Hungary is so distinct that it should be treasured, but that’s not a reason to isolate the way they tried to for a generation. Beauty is meant to be seen and felt, not locked away, and Hungarian- and Hungary- is nothing if not beautiful.

Didn't get the pronunciation of Magyar right, but Etelköz was pretty close.

The Hobgfoglalás is a made up theory. At the time it was impossible to move over 1 million people and invade the Karpathians. Even the Mongols cannot moved that massive group of people. There is more likely evidence that Avars, who they already lived there and the Székelys, who are descendants of Attila and Prince Csaba stayed there, and another nomad group next to Huns came back to conquer the region.
