Maria Birgu :
the propaganda pictures trigger something in me because it looks eerily similar to what my parents saw everywhere during Communism

“May the odds be ever in your favor” basically is the Capitol version of “bless your heart”

This creator is basically a hunger games icon to me now. I can’t think of hunger games without thinking of her!

I loooove everything they do for promo!! But at the same time I’m afraid we’re all falling for some kind of propaganda too…as a writer with this message I would intentionally show my readers that it can happen to them in the real world if you’re not careful enough…

The use of the word “reparation” feels so disgusting and intentional too 😭 absolutely twisted

I do you use the “May the odds be ever in your favor” but I don’t use it for good wishes or being nice lol I use it when someone has a stupid plan or doing something I don’t like haha the southern equivalent of “bless your heart” 🤣

“Right” defeating rebellion is also indicative of right wing traditionalism and nationalism being used to squash progressive ideas

Everything is so colorful and fake. Like the gumballs. The reality is gray and deem.

LOVE that you pointed out how the Capitol propaganda worked in our world!! I was just talking to my sister about it!! I told her I feel like all of these interviews and things that the cast is doing is what the tributes would have done if they were crowned victor — it’s what they DID do, and that’s so spooky to me

The odds going in your favor is also almost an ironic telling of Wyatt’s whole ideology. The one character who unfortunately knows the odds more than anyone and understands them

The Hunger Games isn’t so much dystopian fiction now as it is a disturbingly accurate reminder of what’s to come if we don’t make better voting choices.

In our family we say may the odds be ever in your favor as a more of a sarcastic parting.. Meaning things are probably not going to turn out well, but hey good luck on coping with the outcome! 👍🏼
