@bridgenoland: THE SHOWDOWN | Obi-Wan Kenobi & Anakin Skywalker — STAR WARS: EPISODE III – REVENGE OF THE SITH (2005) 🔥 Some arguments end with somebody leaving the room. This one requires a volcanic planet. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker have spent years fighting on the same side. Master and apprentice. General and commander. Friends. Brothers, in almost every way that matters. Which makes Mustafar a particularly unfortunate place to discover that the relationship has officially become unsalvageable. Anakin has already made his choice. Obi-Wan has finally understood what that choice means. And somewhere between betrayal, grief and several years of conversations they probably should have handled considerably better, diplomacy has left the building. The lightsabers come out. Naturally. What follows is less a duel between two Jedi than the collapse of everything they once believed they were to each other. Obi-Wan knows Anakin’s instincts. Anakin knows Obi-Wan’s discipline. They know how the other moves. How the other thinks. Where the hesitation might come. Which is terribly useful when you are fighting beside someone. Considerably less charming when you are trying to defeat them. Ewan McGregor gives Obi-Wan the restraint of a man still attempting to hold himself together. Hayden Christensen gives Anakin the fury of someone who has decided that every person standing against him has become part of the betrayal. Neither of them enters this fight as a stranger. That is precisely the problem. Every strike carries history. Every pause remembers something better. And every metre between them feels like another piece of a bond neither man knows how to save. Some showdowns are about proving who is stronger. This one is about discovering what remains when love, loyalty and trust have already lost. Mustafar simply provides the lighting. 🔥 #StarWars #RevengeOfTheSith #AnakinSkywalker #ObiWanKenobi #HaydenChristensen
