all you ever hear from the anxious side is how relationships are “supposed to be”. also you can’t “withhold” love with someone as it implies you are entitled to their body or time. so abusive and suffocating.

One anxious attachment partner i had would literally lie ON TOP of me. Like, whole weight, wrapped around me until I couldn’t move. Made me feel so anxious and trapped and then I wouldn’t be able to shift or get comfortable enough to fall asleep and wake up so stiff and in pain. When I told her we could cuddle for a bit, but then I needed my own space to actually sleep, she got upset and said I was making her feel rejected and isolated and that we’re “supposed” to cuddle all night.

honestly i think a secure attachment could work with an avoidant and overall have a happy relationship. there would be difficulties, but i think it could happen. anxious attachments just suffocate the hell out of everyone lol
