I think I understand what the problem. he don't understand that 中国人 mean the nationality of the people. I think he think that it mean the race. and if he is talking about nationality, then Singaporean have alot of other race. if he mean Chinese 华人，then I think the Chinese in Singapore would deny it. we are Chinese which is our race, but our nationality is Singaporean. he should be clear of the different between race and nationality.

Chinese in China is different from Chinese all over the world, we speak different languages and we also have different values. Why would he think that all Chinese must return to china roots? He is obviously living in Mao regime. Even ex-DXP will not harbour such views
