Omg this has been bothering me so much lately and you worded it so well! It’s so frustrating to see Varcole spaces filled with these people. The mental gymnastics they do to make it seem problematic is just stupid. Suddenly, all nuance that a romance story can have goes out the window when it comes to Varcole. They accuse shippers of reducing Nicole to being Varka’s accessory, but in really they just can’t understand that a woman doesn’t become an object when she’s in a relationship with a man. They project their weird misogyny into the shippers. Not to mention the amount of harassment artists who draw the ship get. It’s ridiculous. Most of the people who hate on Varcole are just trying to moralize how much they hate it because they feel like it gets on the way of their own ship
