In 2001, the Fertitta brothers bought the struggling UFC and brought White in as president. Millions were invested, but the promotion kept losing money. By 2005, The Ultimate Fighter was one of their last chances to make it work. Its first season helped bring MMA to a much wider audience. The UFC would eventually become a global sports business. White says he doesn’t believe he has regrets. That doesn’t mean every decision worked out. It means he can look back knowing he acted on what mattered to him while he had the chance.
