@dailymail: Colorado's $15 million wildlife overpass is already making a major difference, with animal collisions along a stretch of Interstate 25 reportedly falling by 91%. The enormous bridge allows wildlife, including elk, deer, bears and pronghorn, to cross above traffic rather than risk crossing the busy highway. Officials say cameras have also captured pronghorn using the crossing to reach areas they haven't accessed in decades. The overpass is part of a wider system of underpasses and fencing designed to protect wildlife and reduce dangerous collisions with vehicles. #colorado #usa #news #animals

I don’t think people realize how huge this bridge is and how difficult it was to build over a major highway. They have to account for decades of wear and tear from Colorado’s brutal weather cycles, massive weights differences depending on snowfall and how many animals may be on it at one time, and possibly accidents or collisions that may happen under the bridge in worse case scenarios. They probably had to repave the roads as well. But I’d say a 91% reduction in collisions absolutely makes it worth it. Not only does that save Coloradans thousands of dollars, it saves human and animal lives.
