@tcrreports: A heartbreaking case is raising serious concerns about student safety and the dangers of fentanyl. Federal prosecutors say a student at New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) was allegedly given fentanyl disguised as cocaine in her dorm room on March 18, 2026. According to the indictment, two students lost consciousness after taking the substance. One woman allegedly was sexually assaulted while unconscious and later passed away on March 21 after suffering acute fentanyl poisoning. Her friend survived after receiving emergency treatment. Prosecutors have charged 19-year-old Moises Freire and 18-year-old Brian Peralta Cabrera in a fentanyl distribution conspiracy. Freire also faces additional charges related to the alleged assault. Both defendants remain presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The victims have not been publicly identified. 🕊️ This case is a reminder of how dangerous unknown substances can be. 💬 What more should colleges do to protect students and raise awareness about the dangers of fentanyl? #BreakingNews #NYCNews #CollegeSafety #FentanylAwareness #StudentSafety
