There’s been a lot of discussion around the latest changes being proposed for ISAs, with the Government looking at ways to encourage people to put more of their money into investments rather than keeping it all in cash. And this is where things get interesting. For years, the traditional advice has been pretty simple: Save your money. Keep it somewhere safe. Build up a rainy day fund. Put some aside for the future. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with having cash savings. But what happens when you start looking at the bigger picture? Because there’s a difference between saving money and building wealth. Having £20,000 sitting in an account is still £20,000. But the question is what that money is doing for you over the next 5, 10 or 20 years. With the cost of living, inflation, changing interest rates and the constant pressure on household finances, more people are starting to ask a bigger question: “How do I make my money work harder?” And this is one of the reasons I find the conversation around property so interesting. Property isn't about simply buying a house and hoping it goes up in value. Done properly, it can be about understanding an asset, understanding demand, creating value and building an income-producing business around it. That's exactly what drew me towards Serviced Accommodation. I didn't start with a huge portfolio or some overnight success story. I started with two units. Over time, I built the systems, learnt the operational side, made mistakes, refined the model and eventually scaled the business. That journey is also why I believe people need to stop looking at property as a get-rich-quick scheme. It's a business. And like any business, you need to understand the numbers, the market, the risks and the strategy before putting your money into it. The ISA changes are another reminder that the way we think about our money matters. Saving is important. But at some point, you also need to start thinking about how your money can create more money. So I'm curious: 👇 If you had £20,000 sitting in the bank today, would you rather keep it as cash or look at ways of putting it to work? And if property was an option, would you consider Serviced Accommodation? Let me know your thoughts below. #PropertyInvestment #WealthBuilding #MoneyMindset
