‼️there is a common cultural misconception that Satan is the ruler of hell who acts as a warden or torturer of bad people.
The Bible actually teaches a very different reality regarding Satan, hell, and who is in control:
1️⃣ Satan is Not the Warden of Hell. He Is a Prisoner💥
Popular culture and media often portray Satan as running hell, but the Bible teaches that hell was not created for Satan to rule, but as a place of punishment *for* him and his demons.
📌Revelation 20:10:👉"And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever."👉Far from being God's "employee of the month" or running a torture chamber, Satan is ultimately subjected to the final judgment of God just like anyone else who rejects Him.
2️⃣ Who Controls Hell? (God's Authority)
👉Satan is not in control of hell, nor is he acting independently to punish evil. According to Scripture, God holds ultimate authority over life, death, and judgment.
📌Matthew 10:28: Jesus warns, "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell."*👉 Satan’s entire objective in biblical theology is to rebel against God, lead people astray, and drag as many down with him as possible, he is an enemy of God, not an enforcer for Him.
3️⃣ Why Does Hell Exist?
The Bible frames hell not as a sadistic torture dungeon where God maliciously inflicts pain on His enemies, but rather as a place of ultimate separation from God, who is the source of all life, light, goodness, and love. When people persistently reject God and choose rebellion, hell represents the ultimate realization of that choice: a place where God's presence and grace are completely removed.
