happy birthday to the woman who somehow raised three kids on her own, and still somehow survived all our perangai sampai hari ni. yaya don’t think yaya ever really said this properly, but thank you, umi. thank you sebab sudah ajar yaya how to see the world from a better perspective, how to stay humble even when life gives us reasons to be bitter, and most importantly, thank you sebab sudah ajar yaya how to be a human being. umi taught yaya things that no school could ever teach. how to be strong without becoming hard, how to be kind without expecting anything in return, and how to keep going even when you’re tired. yaya membesar dengan tengok umi figure things out sendiri, and maybe that’s why yaya belajar macam mana to stand on her own too. kalau ada satu benda yang yaya paling grateful dalam hidup ni, it’s that i got to be your daughter. ❤️‍🩹 umi, yaya tahu hidup umi bukan selalu senang. umi besarkan kami bertiga dari kecil, seorang diri, through things yang mungkin kalau orang lain di tempat umi, they would’ve given up already. but umi didn’t. umi tetap bangun, tetap masak, tetap bebel, tetap marah, tetap sayang kami, walaupun honestly, kami bertiga ni memang cukup cukup test your patience thank you sebab sudah ajar yaya to look at the world with softer eyes, to never think i’m better than anyone else, and to understand that being a good person will always matter more than being a great one. maybe yaya belum jadi anak yang umi boleh banggakan every single day, but please know this: a lot of the good things in yaya came from you. from a woman who was tired, who had her own battles, who probably had so many reasons to give up, but still chose to keep going. and maybe yaya will never fully understand how hard it was for umi back then, but yaya will always be grateful that umi made sure we grew up feeling loved. selamat hari jadi, umi. one day, yaya hope yaya can give you the peaceful life that you always tried so hard to give us. you raised us with what you had, and somehow, you gave us more than enough. i love you, always. ❤️‍🩹
