as someone who worked in a school they can never assure u it won’t happen because this worlds crazy but they can provide you with their protocol on how they would keep the students safe if something was to happen.. it’s scary this is the world we live in

Okay so my oldest started kindergarten this year what helps me is his school is soo close to our home and they use a app class dojo that updates me throughout the day and I can get in contact with his teacher at any point, and they are super protective of the school with locks and who they let in/out- sending you lots of strength!! Honestly it’s so scary but you’ll see how much fun they have and that helps too!💖

I totally understand how you feel my son started preschool this year and I was really scared. Asking what their safety protocols are does help and also the fact that bad things happen everywhere all the time even at home something could happen we can’t control everything so there’s no use living in fear. Since my son started school he’s been THRIVING and i know i couldn’t provide what he’s been gaining in school with homeschool.

Coming from a teacher, it is so sad to see these things happening all over the country. Just know that teachers and administrators try our hardest to protect students always! My first priority is the safety of my students. Teachers also have anxiety about these situations

we have a really good school system and i know when i went to middle and high school there the doors lock from the outside so, not that that solves anything, but it does help a lot

i think a perspective change is that this can happen literally anywhere. franklin/wilco really sheltered us. i live in fayetteville, nc now with shootings right and left. your kids are safer at school then in your own neighborhoods sometimes. let them live!
