Can you do the renovations while you wait? Hopefully not too long! I know they are working to expedite all the extra bureaucracy around homebuying to make it easier in NYC. Also, I wonder if it's better for the building to be exclusively residential now. fascinating!

OMG…your coop needs to literally close out 60-100 years of old permits and violations b4 they csn even submit an inspection for C of O change. It’s miserable process. But the Commercial maintenance related to your shares is astronomical compared to residential shares.

I live in a building and the doctors office has been unrented and vacant for 7 years. I asked the coop if they would allow a conversion, but they said there is a company that owns and rents the space and pays the building regardless of whether it is occupied so they had no incentive to do this.
