That sounds like a TIA (mini stroke) or an undiagnosed stroke. I've had migraines since my teens (about 1-3 a year). I had transient aphasia (not being understand words), auras, vision voids.
2 years ago, on a Saturday afternoon I suddenly couldn't get my words out (I was thinking them, but couldn't vocalize). I had a headache, but it wasn't horrible. I went to sleep and woke up fine. Then on Sunday it came back in the middle of the day, aphasia (i could talk, but switch words or names or pronouns), headache but no balance issues, I could smile (I checked many times), not weakness on either side).
I went to bed thinking it was a stubborn migraine. I woke up on Monday, called a recruiter to say I couldn't make an interview and she told me to go to the ER. same symptoms, but now I couldn't do anything in order and got frustrated with directions.
I did and while in the ER, while waiting, I couldn't read through English signs, only the Spanish signs (I'm not fluent, but can understand spanish). they sent me for an MRI and CT and diagnosed me with 2 major strokes. when they admitted me, my left side was starting to go numb (arm and leg, but not hand or foot, they weren't numb).
I was 39, no health issues before. My strokes were caused by a hole in my heart (PFO) they are very common and I didn't know I had it until the strokes. The strokes were in the language center of my brain. I couldn't read for months after and my inner monolog went silent for 4 months. scary.
Please don't ignore migraine symptoms, I am so grateful for that recruiter. I have struggled in recovery, but I am stubborn and created my own way remembering to read again especially out loud.
I had a heart procedure to patch the hole, only one migraine since and it wasn't bad.
