BakerM :
it should literally be 4 but it wont ever happen cause of money. Big 10, ACC, & SEC winners, plus 1 at large. 1 plays 4 & 2 plays 3 in 1st round.

8 is the number, 12 is ok. Nobody wants 24

The Rock :
all usual top teams in their conference should have to play at least 6 SEC teams in their schedule every year, so they can actually earn their way into the playoffs. instead of automatically going to be in the playoffs from playing their usual cupcake schedules!

16. Notre Dame had a legitimate chance to win it with that defense and running game. 1 or 2 small conference teams would still get in. No byes. However, 24 is better than 8 or 12 regardless what the CF dinosaur monopolists say...

It’s 8 every game still matter as if it’s a playoff game but we avoid things like 2023 FSU

Begs :
It’s all meaningful until OSU or Michigan sits their starters on rivalry week. Sure argue the home playoff game thing but imagine OSU is sitting at 2 and Michigan is at 9. It’s doubtful that they drop all the way to 17 after losing to the number 2.

12 is perfect… 4 teams get a bye, 8 teams duke it out. You start putting too many more and we’ll start to get 1 seed Ohio State vs 24 seed Tulsa in a few years or 2 seed Oregon vs 23 Seed San Diego State or worse 😭
