The policy at my last center was a dollar a minute your late, after 15 we call every emergency contact and if nobody answers after 30 minutes we call the cops for child abandonment

Sometimes I feel silly sending an invoice for a $6 late pick up fee BUT the contract is the contract for a reason and we have to ALL follow it, all of the time.

So, if you don't charge late fees, then everyone would show up late without care. The late fees are meant to be a deterrent, if she needs a 6pm pickup, then she needs to change to a daycare with a 6pm pickup. Otherwise make sure you head over on time.

I think that's ridiculous. I would have made it on a sliding scale of the first time. It was one price, the second time it was another price. The third time it was another price. So continuously climbs

Mmmm that "real job" line got me so fired up I forgot for a split second this was a skit. I work in child care myself as a caretaker for severely disable children. Child care is a hard job and deserve so much more respect then it is given.
