@verge: Like CarPlay for your kitchen, Apple tied HomeView to the iPhone. Does that make sense? #CarPlay #Apple #HomeView

The Verge is soooooo negative

GottaBeGoose :

This should've just been an iPad app

Imo it’s clever bc it means developers can lean on an older, well documented framework, and Apple has already first hand watched the App Store on the Watch, TV and Mac slowly rot on the vine. An App Store for the HomeView is going to end up the same way.

Which means everyone HAS to have an iPhone. So you can use your immediately available phone to do everything this new device can do, or use the less functional, far less convenient, and lower quality home view. This device has zero use cases.

Very painful to optimise for the duo, not looking forward to homeview
