@aero.total: 🚨 CABIN DOOR DETACHES SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF, FORCING EMERGENCY LANDING A Bombardier Challenger business jet made an emergency landing in Abuja, Nigeria, on October 15, 2026, after losing a cabin door shortly after departure. The aircraft, registered T7-SEI and operated by Triton Aviation, was operating flight DWC052 from Abuja to Lagos when the crew declared a Mayday at approximately 3,000 feet. The emergency was reported around 16:20 UTC, just three minutes after takeoff. The aircraft returned to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, landing safely at 16:34 UTC. All nine people on board, including six passengers and three crew members, were reported uninjured. The detached door was later recovered in a rural area near the airport and taken into custody by Nigeria’s Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB). Investigators are working to establish why the door separated from the aircraft. The cause remains undetermined.
