Phlebotomy is the study of blood. You don't get a phlebotomy, you become a phlebotomist, or someone who draws blood for a living for labs/tests.

As a man also getting testosterone treatment because I have low testosterone, it is accurate that testosterone does thicken the blood, which is why my doctor put me on low dose asprin as a blood thinner and told me to drink 90oz of water daily to also help thin the blood. So if this person was getting legitimate testosterone treatment from a legitimate doctor, they should have been told to do the same thing, if they had been they weren't following treatment instructions. Even I was warned that there was the potential for needing to donate blood if the aspirin and water didn't thun my blood enough.

I was taking testosterone for HRT. Just the creme. Testosterone was at 1000. I had ringing in my ears, felt like I couldn't breathe, I had a migraine, I was so HOT. I had to have a emergency therapeutic phlebotomy. My blood was so thick and dark, dark purple. They had to have somebody assist in the phlebotomy, somebody had to hold the needle while they plunged out the blood. I was near stroke level. This was something that happened so quickly and could have been devastating. I no longer supplement . If I had continued to add a small amount of testosterone for HRT , I was gonna need constant blood work & therapeutic phlebotomy. It was a full time job, I can't imagine the amount of work it is to maintain testosterone levels for transition. It is such a serious drug.

I’m male I have to get rid of my blood as soon as I can like every two months or so .my dad had blood clot in he’s lung thankfully he made it but her story is so sad be well every one go to doctors

It makes me angry that people aren’t being properly educated on what cross-sex hormones could potentially do to their bodies. I’m a woman and all too aware of what too little or too much estrogen can do to my body so I can’t even fathom the havoc it could wreak on a biological male. What happened to informed consent?

I go every 6months. I watch my diet...I check all my levels, estrogen testosterone hemoglobin etc...heart attacks blood clots stroke all become high risk if u r not very careful and have a actua Dr making sure your body can handle it.
