I have a simple plan for that. When I get back I delete everything in my inbox. Either the person that needed something will have figured it out, was important enough that they went to another co-worker, or will circle back to it.

I tell the people who work for me. TAKE YOUR PTO ITS PART OF YOUR COMPENSATION PACKAGE. I cover for them when they are off. We all need time off

I still have a lot of pto because even though my company says "We want you to use those hours" and "Everyone needs breaks so we dont burn out" then they turn around and start making me feel guilty for taking the time off. I'm planning for 2 weeks after the new year and I'm blocking everyone in that company 🤣

I just had my one on one and I was like.. I am 42 yrs old I NEVER use my pto for “vacation” but I put it in so i have the Saturday weekend before Christmas to the Sunday after Christmas off. I only have to work 8 hrs on Christmas eve from home.. 😂 and it was approved by an AI system.

That is exactly what happens to me EVERY. DANG. TIME! I bust my butt to cover for other people, but its not reciprocated. My manager told me I could work OT to get caught up. 🤬😡

Honestly that’s so true. I’m salary and I work so much so when I take extra time I’m really just using up “comp time” not even vacation days and I come back to 100 emails 😵

Yup. Kinda wish they would just pay out what we don’t use at the need of the year. I’m tired of losing it because I didn’t use it and if I use it I work as many hours before and after as I took, extra to get ready and catch up.
