idk what this is,but the angst has its effect so I'm bouta point blank you with a shotgun this bouta hurt bro
using the post 3rd movie film as a reference we can assume that due to berk going back to treating hiccup like they did in the first movie we can assume that hiccup assumes all of his relationships were transactional, including the one with his father,he completely wholeheartedly thinks that stoick only saved him because he was useful, special, and that if he hadn't had toothless stoick would've have jumped in,we can also assume that due to stoick not showing any worry during the start first movie after he saves hiccup from the monstrous nightmare that since stoick suddenly started showing emotion only after dragon training and after hiccup woke up from the mini coma it wouldn't even be outlandish to think his relationship with stoick was transactional, and that stoick took back the disownment before hiccup went for the red death as a sort of transaction because he finally saw that he was wrong, also during the post 3rd movie minifilm toothless saves hiccup, but hiccup doesn't see him and assumes it was gobber, meaning toothless and hiccup never got to meet again after that moment, and they didn't even know they were near each other, finally as I said before, hiccup assumes that every relationship he had was transactional, and that he let go of the only person who ever had a non transactional relationship with him, toothless, and hiccup assumes that if stoick had lived,he would go back to treating hiccup exactly like he had before
