First off rhodey is in the military second Tony has more disadvantages and third I think iron man didn’t really have a choice I don’t think it was because he wanted him to have his suit by that point he couldn’t do anything about it he has zero failsafes for if someone attempted to take his suit but of course he fixed that later on

Ehh rhodey while not being as mechanically gifted as tony is still an expert on weapons that paired with military combat training would give him the edge

His military experience does not tie in here because the suit has little to no compatibility with any aircrafts or vehicles in the military aswell as the controls and operations being completely foreign. All it does is help with processing info under stress which Rhodey wasn't under in this situation. Tony has complete mastery over his suits and Rhodey has absolutely none. Rhodey is honestly more impressive to me
