@tinesntales: • Prioritize the evening. In mid-October the first post-front evening usually beats the morning. Set up on a staging area or a travel route between bedding and your food plot, not on the plot edge itself. Deer often hang back in cover until right at last light. • Look for fresh sign on the walk in. Bucks tend to refresh scrapes and rubs right after a rain like today’s. Fresh dirt in a scrape tomorrow is a strong reason to hang near it. • Use the conditions. Wet leaves let you slip in quietly, so you can get tighter to bedding than usual. • Mind the thermals. On a cold, clear morning, air sinks downhill until the sun warms things, then it reverses. Stay off low ground early, and in the afternoon don’t let rising thermals carry your scent up to a ridge you’re watching. • Check the wind tonight. Behind a front it’s usually northwest. If the wind is wrong for your best stand, sit a different stand instead of forcing it. #archery #hunt #hunting #Outdoors #whitetail
