Former hospital social worker here.... Get that hospital social worker in your room and have her earn her paycheck. Most nursing home social workers (which was my job after college) will do a video tour. The social worker can also get referrals in place so your insurance will cover medications, catheter supplies, diapers, necessarily medical equipment, etc. They can also hook you up with foid pantries that deliver. If your insurance doesn't cover necessary supplies, the social worker can get you a list of resources to get them for free. Many phone carriers also offer service for next to nothing if you're disabled. Every hospital and nursing home social worker has access to this info, so you don't have to ask total strangers for help. You just need to initiate those conversations.

This is important! Going to live in a long term nursing facility, they try and take every penny you have. You get a monthly allowance like $50. So please do not let them know about any PayPal, Venmo or Cash App. Especially such things as gofundme.

i’m frugal af for many reasons, but being chronically ill makes us fear so much! for the phone, who’s the carrier? we have been with mint for a few years and it works the same as the overpriced paces. you can get an esim via email and a yr of unlimited is under 550 for each phone. if you have medicade they should provide a set amount of caths each month and diapers. medication- have you looked at good RX for coupons?

Hi, I work at a SNF in the area. These are all good options for you in terms of quality- they are all 4-5 stars on Medicare. You likely will be sharing a room with an elderly person at all of them though 😕
