@whatsamortgage_: “An AI bubble is helping mortgage rates DROP? Who would’ve thought!” Yesterday, investors started getting nervous about the AI boom. A company called CoreWeave is raising some serious concerns about whether all this money being poured into artificial intelligence will actually pay off. So what’s happening? Investors are pulling money away from risky AI investments and moving toward safer U.S. Treasury bonds. And when investors buy more Treasury bonds, bond prices go up and yields come down. That’s helping bring some much-needed relief to mortgage rates! Will it last? I don’t know. We still have inflation to worry about, and markets can change quickly. But if you’re buying a home or refinancing and you like today’s rate, I’d seriously consider locking it in. Who would’ve thought AI fears could actually help homeowners?
I’ve been saying this the whole time and you’re not going to hear this from the main stream media. Inflation is not the reason for the recent increase in mortgage rates. It’s because of AI companies flooding the market with bonds.
