@robertthelender: 📋 What happened: Katie Zacharia is out as White House press secretary five days into the job, USA TODAY reports. Five sources, including three senior White House officials, said she is "transitioning out." Neither she nor the White House responded to a request for comment. Her exit followed a rocky first briefing, questions about her legal credentials, and Trump saying the job might not be for her. 🎤 The first briefing: On Oct. 13, she read prepared remarks for under 15 minutes and took questions from just three reporters, each from conservative outlets. Trump's critics ripped it. Zacharia pointed to cross-country trips from California to Washington after being offered the job last week, saying it left her little time to prepare. ⚖️ The credentials question: She told USA TODAY on Oct. 15 that she failed the California bar exam in 2011 and never obtained a U.S. law license, though she has long called herself a lawyer publicly. Her explanation: "The results of the bar exam were inconsequential because I was already moving to a foreign country that didn't require it." 🗣️ Trump's comments: On Oct. 16, Trump said he told her: "Honestly, if I were you, I'd reconsider. You think about it, but I'd reconsider." He added: "Maybe it's not for her." Anthony Scaramucci, who lasted 11 days as communications director in Trump's first term, wrote on X: "Records are made to be broken. But I take no pleasure in other people's pain." ✅ Bottom line: A press secretary is gone after five days, less than half of Scaramucci's 11. What do you make of how fast this unraveled?
