@brianwagstaff68: At 58, I still want to build something, be useful, and have more time with my wife and family. I’m working toward a next chapter with more choices. If you’re a guy over 50 thinking about what comes next, follow me and DM me. What do you want more time for? #MenOver50 #GenX #LifeAfter50 #SecondHalfOfLife #TimeWithFamily
The wall is real for all of us. Most of society sees us as invisible after age 55. However, it’s up to all of us to write the conclusion to which we aspire.

56 and I hit a wall. I love mentoring and coaching the younger people in my workplace but I had no desire to do my role anymore. I’m checking out due to aging parents that require more time, I want to travel, I’m more active and focused on my overall health and fitness.

I’m 58 and I find nothing excites me or makes me happy anymore. I go to work I sleep I eat I go to work and I’m still short on my bills. So frustrating. When my child was young I did it for her but now she’s grown and I find myself just sitting around and getting cranky

Resistance Training 6 hours/w . Eat Mediterranean diet. Sleep 7 hrs at least . Wake up and walk fasted for 1 hour. Do stretching 20 min after that . Do Cardio Zone 4-5, 3 time a week for VO2max over 40 . You better start now or you will hit another uglier wall at 70 the one telling you your end is pretty close . Start changing your habits NOW. Check your biomarkers . Do the work . Healthspan is the real wealth and it need real work to keep it and grow it

We’ve been helping others all our lives. What you described is losing that with those around us “kids, co workers, etc” not needing us as much anymore. At this age you have a lot of wisdom and life experiences. Do not make that knowledge go to waste. Use it for good by volunteering somewhere where your knowledge can help others. I truly believe this a part of where we should be headed next.

Am I too young for this? Been at my current job for 11 years, I feel like I’ve hit a wall there. I took a part time job and at first I was excited. Three weeks into the new pt job, I was like “this ain’t for me” and I quit. It feels like the only thing I enjoy is riding my bicycle around town like a little kid. I don’t know what I want anymore. This is tough…

I’m 54 and from what I’ve seen, this affects people more than go have let their jobs and careers become their entire identity. I’ve been at the same job for 30 years but I just view it as a means to an end. I’ve always had tons of interests outside of work and work was just something I did out of necessity. When you’re younger, your children and things you think you have a lot of time to attain keep you motivated. Once you’re older and you’re past all those first milestones, kids, career, etc, now the focus is on you. If you don’t have anything interesting going on outside of that, you become introverted and miserable. You have to have hobbies, passions, and interests to keep you going.
