Yeah. This is a big part of it. I grew up in a super conservative home and even as I started into my 20s I followed my religious upbringing and pushed back against my desire to live as myself, to transition. I held a lot of jealousy and hate towards the LGBTQ+ community, saying it wasn't fair that they got to live as themselves. Eventually I realized I was the only thing keeping me from living as myself, what's funny though is how quickly I went from being conservative once I started transitioning.

It’s a narcissistic system that says 1) you are imperfect and 2) you can’t change without divine intervention. Trans people defy that. We are proof that self change is self driven and not reliant on the patriarchy

That’s an interesting thought. I always thought that it was because Abrahamic religions are so strict about gender roles that trans people scare them because they don’t “fit”, and that if God could make a mistake about something as huge as gender that would be terrifying.
