I’m Taiwanese and this vid touches me deeply. The writing on the blackboard is “ROC (Republic of China, aka Taiwan, not People’s Republic of China) Year 78 (1989), LanShan Working Station Reports…”. And the portrait is the founding father of ROC, Sun Yat-Sen, who ended the last dynasty in China in 1911. But his region lost the civil war to Mao in mainland China and retreated to Taiwan in 1949. That’s why we still have the political tension between China and Taiwan. Because ROC still exists to this day.
