My sister had a child free wedding except for her niece and nephew, the best mans kids and my younger cousin who came from the uk. But she knew these children so she had them come but none of them were in the wedding

i had a child free wedding. my auntie wouldn't leave her kid with anyone, same argument about all the family being there, she wasn't married to the kids father (they were a couple) and we'd never met him at this point. so they didn't come. my grandmother made a whole issue and on the day she left early. my brother walked her out and came back shocked! she was picked up by my aunt and her husband and they were taking her out for dinner as they couldn't come to the wedding- they didn't have the kid with them!! and they lived 1 and a half hours drive from the venue. I stopped feeling guilty at that point.

I will never understand a kid free wedding. Only invite kids that you know the parenta will watch them. If you don't want the kids, then expect the parents not to show up. Family is who watched my daughter, and I skipped weddings that did not want her. It was not out of disrespect to the person getting married, it was because I don't travel without my family, and I don't trust strangers with my daughter. I get that some people don't like kids, but they should understand that kids are first for the kid's parents.

I'm the type that yep your wedding and ill respect that but please respect me choice of not coming to the wedding I'll gladly cheer along but most child free weddings are drinking and getting drunk im not for that but hey if they are thats cool but ill just celebrate with you guys some other way
