again proving topps strategically withhold printing certain rookie cards in one year to wait until the next year to pack that player into absolutely every product they can. take for example this year Spencer Jones did not receive an RC card yet his mlb debut was on 5/8/26 which was early enough to include Jones in many 2026 topps products yet instead of creating some sort of rarity in printed rookie cards they held Jones out of every Topps product in 26'.. however 2026 prizm did include the RC logo on Spencer Jones cards making his 2026 his first "RC" card, imo 2027 for Jones could be considered an XRC (extended rookie card) on all his topps cards same thing last year with Roman Anthony.. they can print at will why not actually short print/run in season called up rookies especially if they are called up during April or May (early season call ups) in conclusion fuck topps
