Young was originally jailed for three years in November 2024 at Paisley Sheriff Court following a sickening campaign of "persistent, predatory and targeted" offences against 11 young girls. His crimes included sexually assaulting a 12-year-old child inside a primary school environment, threatening to rape a 14-year-old girl in front of her mother, and pressuring another young teenager to create an adult OnlyFans page. Upon his conviction, the court slapped him with a strict five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) to heavily monitor his digital access. However, having been liberated on licence from HMP Polmont on February 19, 2026, Young immediately executed a digital cover-up. Although he attended Paisley Police Station to register his address, he deliberately hid the existence of his mobile phone. A subsequent multi-agency check at a flat on Clarence Street revealed that, between February 20 and February 24, Young was actively using a PlayStation and a secondary, unapproved mobile phone to access internet messaging. Sheriff Bruce Erroch, KC, revoked his liberty, remanding him to custody pending strict social work assessments.
