@pathfindercarenav: Water, glazing and interior finishes can create a striking play of light. The person reading or working within it brings another perspective. Reflections, contrast, sightlines and preferred viewing position can influence the experience of using a yacht interior. The owner's own sensory preferences give those relationships their personal meaning. A finish that looks attractive in a rendering may reflect light differently from the owner's chosen reading position; the brief gives that relationship a personal context. Pathfinder's occupational therapy-informed Functional Design Brief can bring selected considerations into the designer's lighting and materials discussion. The purpose is to connect an atmospheric choice with the everyday activity it will serve. For the owner, it is a more precise way to discuss what feels restful, engaging or distracting. For the design team, it adds human context when reviewing available options. Lighting and materials professionals can use that context when reviewing finishes, shading or task-lighting options. The owner can discuss the reading or working experience they want the visual setting to support.
