This must be an American thing. However, in many countries….a lawyer is someone who has a law degree while an attorney/advocate/barrister - you must pass the bar exam.

I withdrew from a Thermodynamics class because I didn't prepare proper because I forgot there was an exam and I knew I wouldn't get an A or B+ for all classes in my major(Engineering) if I kept that class which I really wanted. Still had to pay for that class, but made sure I got an A- in that class the next semester. Same thing, right? I've also never been to China, but the University I graduated from is only 2.4 miles from where The Constitution was signed, and that's not actually important, but still interesting.

And I don’t understand why people are arguing about this she didn’t pass the bar she admits to not having passed the bar… so therefore she’s not an attorney she holds a juris doctorate degree (which is a great achievement) but she is not an attorney

They are genuinely two different things. Attorneys represent clients in courts, lawyers cannot - they can legally advise though (only attorneys have passed the bar)
