I was laid off from my animation job due to AI. now I'm working nights while trying to redo my portfolio to get a mentorship. it is very depressing to work retail and have people ask me what I did before this job 🥲

Graduated with a finance degree a entry level job pays $20 an hour but this wearhouse job pays $24 an hour so it’s simple math

We need more medical workers, but there are no jobs available, we need more NHS workers but they're not taking anyone on, we need more mental health services but to get in anywhere you have to have 10+ years of experience. Our world's not functioning right now, this is when we should be funding more jobs but we can't even get entry level jobs??

The problems not dream jobs vs working. It’s that working used to give you a house a car a holiday a family, luxuries and whatever else not it’s just surgical survival if your lucky. So people claim benefits whilst working. Nonsense. No one dreams of labour or working but those jobs used to give something so now dream jobs aren’t possible and the rest of us have nothing beyond subsidised poverty

When you can go to uni and get a degree and still be on less money than some normal jobs. Really puts people off grinding for a career

So schools are training you for a carrier which doesn't exist or it's in limited quantity and you left over only with debt .

This is what happens when too many people go to uni - the economy cannot employ the number of academics being produced.

Too many people being qualified for the same jobs, the uni and lenders don’t care, it’s a business to them , my guess, is they want most of these people in the army.
