@uskcevents: Let’s talk about sound in Grand Plaza. One of the things we love most about Union Station is its historic architecture. But we also know that all that beautiful marble comes with a few acoustic challenges. Grand Plaza is a marble box, and hard surfaces naturally create sound reflections and reverb. We understand that, and over the years, we’ve found ways to work with the space to help create a better audio experience for events. Here are a few things we recommend: 1. Sound panels that soften the space. Our thick, wheat-colored sound panels cover historic doorways helping reduce reverb. The best part? These panels are included in your rental package. 2. Separation drapery for a more intentional setup. Available as an add-on, our wheat-colored separation drapery can be strategically placed around the stage or music area to help manage sound reflections. 3. Strategic stage and speaker placement. Experienced audio teams can use strategically spaced speakers to help distribute sound more evenly throughout the room. 4. Vendors who know the space. This is a big one! Working with an experienced A/V team who understand Grand Plaza can make a meaningful difference. We’ve seen these teams work in the room, and we know who understands how to approach its unique acoustics. Our biggest recommendation? Lean on the people who know the space. Ask our team for recommendations! Photo Credits (in order): Brittyn Elizabeth Studios Hannah Rogg Taylor Claire Ryser Gracefully Made in KS
