I was not expecting the British accent out of what looks like a southern ass man

A week before my 18th birthday, my dad fell into a coma. I spent my 18th birthday in the hospital praying for him. Someone walked in with papers for me to sign to pull the plug, saying he’d be a “vegetable” if he survived. I couldn’t do it, and thank God I didn’t. My dad survived and is nowhere near what they predicted. I’m 36 now❤️🙏🏼

He said probably the best quote I’ve heard “tell your story because 1000 others will tell it for you, usually incorrectly”

I find it so wholesome that he’s accepting his wrongs in life and moving on with the best version of himself that he can be. He will forever be my idol now for many reasons. The way his words are so relatable, the way hes changed, and the fact he appreciates everyone in his life. Legend man

At just 20 years old I lost my dad in 2023 December and doing his obituary, eulogy and funeral as well as making sure all his close friends and family seen him before passing was so hard. But the hardest thing was getting to the hospice 10 minutes before he passed and I asked him if it was time , not even 2 seconds later a car alarm went off outside and I took it as a sign. I curled up next to him in his bed and held him and told him it’s ok if he needs to go, he didn’t deserve to suffer. Eventually he passed in my arms and that empty feeling never left me since. Loosing someone so close is a never ending pain that doesn’t get easier, it just gets manageable. I wonder what my life would be if he was still here especially since he would’ve been a grandfather this year it hurts a little worse. He would’ve been 74 on the 25th of this month as well. He was my hero and forever will be

It is indeed, the hardest thing to do. Coming from someone who lost their mom at 24 and having to make these decisions. 😢

All I thought was about my dad and being in the hospital for three weeks and the drs saying there was no more they could do. I take it as a sign from my dad every time I hear East Side of Sorrow, and I thank Zach for giving us this, considering what it took from him

I always think there are some situations in life that you can never comprehend unless you've been through it. This is one of them, totally heartbreaking x 💔

At 31 I was responsible for signing the papers to take my dad off life support. 3 years later and it still hits me like a truck.

They Did it when dad passed. I found out five minutes before the guys came in with papers. I don’t remember the guy just trying to do his job, but I do remember the hate I felt for him. I can’t remember what he looked like, but I remember thinking how wild it was a dude with fucking crocs and giblets was asking me if dad needed his organs anymore.
