Lowkey wish people did this with Wikipedia instead so they weren’t on the verge of collapse every couple of months 😭

Why are people so pressed we donate to our fanfic website… like no one is forcing anyone… if yall wanna donate to a charity be our guest. But when we donate to this website to keep it ad free and running we do it because we want to

I feel like with ao3 being human driven and crowd funded we should really emphasize the need of tagging or a way to distinguish/remove AI on the site. I get it’s an archive so it’s only so much they can do but holy shit bro I’m tired.

Okay so when are we giving to Wikipedia 👀👀 AI is killing Wikipedia’s traffic and it’s also a completely free website. They also have cool merch that you get a discount for if you donate!!

Ao3 brings me joy in life. I fund it to keep my joy alive. College has only brought me pain.

not loving all the people suggesting to donate other places besides ao3 they need money to stay running too. forcing people to donate to what YOU dictate is important is crazy. adults with adult money can donate to whatever they want 🙄

Two most important internet charities to me are 1. Internet Archive (aka the Wayback Machine) and 2. AO3.
