I’m asking this as a stylist, mostly to potentially learn something and curiosity. I took 4 years of cosmetology in highschool, then went through another 18 months of beauty school and have been working professionally behind the chair for a little over 3 years. I’ve done many many test strands and have seen lots of test strands be done and I’ve never ever seen one where the product touches the scalp of the person getting the test strand. Depending on the situation we either cut out the section we’re testing (I usually do so with texturizes so you don’t see a random short chunk of hair) or with about a half inch of space between the product and the scalp. I am wondering how a test strand would have prevented this as I’ve never seen one make contact with someone’s skin

I wasn’t telling her to be grateful to be burnt I was saying that in a world full or negative you should look at the glad half full rather then half empty… 😭🤍

Hairstylist here, there are so many things wrong with this comment but im going to point out just one thing that I do not like. Not all hairstylists are cut from the same cloth, so no, not all hairstylists will tell you to tell them if something is/feels wrong. Because they dont care. Im beyond sorry that this happened to your daughter, it’s disgusting and negligent.

I think you are covering up that you had something in your hair before the bleach. Chemical reactions don’t happen unless there is a chemical to react with the bleach.
