I had to call the cops on this homeless guy that hung out at the laundromat I went to. I was just trying to load my wash and he was talking to himself saying he’s so angry he just wants to 💀 a bunch of people. Started the wash got in the car called 911. They arrested him he had drugs he was drunk. Im like 90% sure his gf was next door selling plasma because the cops went in there too. she gave me the nastiest side eye when she walked out. YOU’RE MAD BUT MAYBE DON’T SCREAM YOU WANNA 💀 PEOPLE?? I felt kind of bad and my husband was like “Why tf do you feel bad that’s their problem they don’t know how to act” and you know what he’s right about that 😂😭

Literally got fully groped in a store by a homeless man, told a friend about it, and was told I was wrong for alerting the staff because he might be “at risk”. I WAS PUT AT RISK HELLO??

like things you shouldnt call the cops on homeless people for: sleeping in their cars, sleeping on benchs, being strange and off putting, being loud or yelling but not at you or another person, panhandling
things you totally can call the cops on homeless people for: threatening you, physically assualting you, stalking you

I cut off a friend like this because it gave her absolutely no reasonable sense of danger. She would be having full blown conversations with crackheads in her car with the windows fully rolled down for him to get BOTH of us… But was “too shy” to turn down dudes at the bar??? 😅Like, she would literally look to me like a puppy looking for it’s mom, trying to act like she need my permission for rejecting someone. But then simultaneously said that *I* was “being mean” when I ALSO don’t want some random man coming up to me at strange times.

This is why I hate the conversation around the “villianization” of public transportation. In a huge city where it’s plentiful and many people use it? Fine. In smaller cities where a large portion of people who use it are homeless/very low income with nothing to lose? Different story all together. I rode the bus religiously for 2 years as a teenager before I got my license and it was scary as shit

I remember one story about a guy who kicked this homeless lady out of his car bc she broke in and was just sleeping in there and the majority of the comments were telling him to just let her sleep and and some were telling him to give her the car. Like tf??

the police acted like this after i called in a guy who pulled a knife on me in a park. Mind you *I* said I didn’t want to press charges and that he probably needed an ambulance and medical assistance.

I’m genuinely curious what their answer would be to the Man vs Bear question if the man was homeless in that situation. Nobody should ever be forced to feel safe just to appease some know-nothings online who care more about optics than about people’s wellbeing and safety.

I was fresh off a night shift 3am, sitting in front of the store (my coworkers keeping an eye) waiting for my ride when a dude living out of his van kept trying to get me to come over so he could put me in the van. I had to yell at him to leave me the fuck alone. It’s quite literally life or death for us, thankfully one of my coworkers came out and told the dude again to fuck off. Brightly lit parking lot btw

I worked at a place that frequently helped the local homeless population and I think my boss had the best philosophy about this. She would do what she could to get them in a better spot but set incredibly firm boundaries basically saying that staff were not able to get involved with assistance. If they came in and she wasn’t there, they’d either leave to wait or go to a different store that had a similar setup, basically deflecting any potential for a stressful altercation. It’s unfortunate that it required an entire Main Street’s worth of managers to pull this kind of thing off and fully recognize the privilege here, but ultimately did a lot of good both helping them get food/necessities and keeping the younger staff members safe. She’s an incredibly smart woman
