as a tire tech if there is indication that it is run flat or if the driver doesn't know how long its been flat (which is anything less than 70psi) the tire gets replaced. I dont care if it looks fine. its not worth my life

I literally just had a conversation with my 22-year-old son this morning. He didn’t get a tire patch for a nail two weeks ago and I finally got a photo and I could see the stress on the side walls. It’s Sunday, told him to park the car until he can get it to the tire shop tomorrow.

it happened to me on my drive tires and luckily it was the inside tire, os the outside tire toke the bigger hit away from me and still I was thrown and rolled 4-5 feet back from that force everything i had on me was 10's of feet away, glasses, phone, pressure gage and few small scars mainly on my face. and I was Def for a moment later all I could hear is a loud beer none stop. same effect from bomb I have seen on TV. i really uh couldn't feel anything at the time so I had to physically check my self if I was okay touching my legs and arms and see if they are injured or if I can still move them. Definitely not a joke.

A truck tire blew out right next to me on the highway, sounded like an explosion, and debris was flying everywhere; if my window had been down, it would’ve hit me right in the face or eye.

As a 16-17 year old, I changed MANY a tire on split rims. No cage, no chains for safety. How I didn't get hurt or killed is beyond me.

He’s lucky it wasn’t one of those old school semi-truck rims with locking rings. Those have been known to decapitate people, which is why those older designs were phased out in favor of safer, bolted designs. One thing I’ve learned over the years is never reuse a tire that’s been driven on while flat. The sidewall may already be compromised, causing a blowout on the highway or even during reinflation.

I'm not sure what tire you're looking at. But that tire is bald. As hell, there are no grooves going opposite of the f****** long grooves. There should be vertical and horizontal grooves. One's missing
